BRISLINGTON HILL BRIDGE - COLLABORATIVE MURAL

A series of collaborative hand painted murals on the pedestrian bridge in Brislington Hill, Bristol with artists Luke Palmer (Acerone) and Anna Haydock-Wilson. The project for Bristol Council was the culmination of extensive community engagement with local people and businesses as well as local workshops and markets, facilitated by Anna, Luke and a range of other individuals, groups and organisations.

The designs for the artwork reflect Luke’s beautiful, geometric style and he developed the patterns for this particular project following some youth engagement activities - with the idea of “nature reclaiming the concrete that dominated the high street” emerging from the process.

I was delighted to be asked to help paint the mural, adding my stylised foliage and creatures amongst Lukes bold geometric designs. I was really happy with how our styles came together with a kind of harmony between the shapes we both use in our work and also an exciting combination of colours resulting from the collaboration.
