BRISTOL EYE HOSPITAL CHILDREN’S WAITING AREA ARTWORK
Working with feedback from the staff and patients, this artwork for the Bristol Eye Hospital Children’s Waiting Area, was designed to provide a warm, engaging environment for the hospitals youngest patients and their families.
I was commissioned to bring a Circus Tent theme to life, featuring on panels, dividers, and wayfinding elements, that spark curiosity and conversation and encourage families to explore and interact with their surroundings while they wait. I reimagined the brief through an Animal Circus concept, creating illustrations of a magical woodland scene, filled with colourful, friendly creatures performing joyful circus acts.
The artwork is intended to help transform the waiting area and provide a playful, calming experience reflecting the energy of a traditional circus in a gentle, nature-inspired setting.
This project was commissioned by University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust’s Arts and Culture Programme @artsuhbw and funded by @bwhospcharity with a generous donation by @glastofest
It was an absolute pleasure to work on this project and I really enjoyed bringing the animal characters to life within this fun theme. You might even spot a little nod to Bristol and the Glastonbury Festival with some iconic landmarks.
