ARNSIDE ROAD TRANSPORT HUB ILLUSTRATIONS FOR WECA
A collaborative project for the West of England Combined Authority (WECA), to produce artwork for Arnside Road in Southmead, encouraging the use of sustainable travel facilities. I had the pleasure of working with the lovely Artist and producer Anna Haydock Wilson and Artist Luke Palmer (Acerone) to create a range of artwork that would help raise awareness of the transport facilities available in the local community,
I worked on the illustrations and graphic concepts and layouts across the various printed media, while Anna was responsible for creatively directing and producing the project as well as facilitating the community engagement, which involved working with groups, including Southmead Development Trust, Team Southmead and The Ranch adventure playground art group. Luke was also involved in the concept and creative direction of the project and worked on the typographic elements within the designs.
Drawing on feedback from the local community, the final artwork included illustrations of local wildlife and the changing seasons which were implemented across a range of media including bus stop vinyls, flags and totems, with the aim of creating engaging artwork and a more appealing public space around the ‘transport hub’ on Arnside Road.
Please note the photographs are mock-ups of the flag artwork.
